BELLEVILLE, ON – The Belleville Senators are excited to announce the winners of the 2022-23 team awards, as selected by members of the Senators hockey operations staff and players.

After the Dukes completed a four-game sweep over the Haliburton County Huskies in one conference semifinal match-up, the Golden Hawks fended off a big rally from the OJHL’s top team during the regular season in the other semifinal.

The Wellington Dukes have already advanced to the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s South/East Conference final and the Trenton Golden Hawks are one win away from joining them to make it a battle of the Quinte clubs in the junior A playoffs.

The Belleville Senators announced today the signing of defenceman Ben Roger to an amateur tryout offer.
Roger, 20, recently concluded his over-age season with the Kingston Frontenacs, recording 13 points (two goals and 11 assists) in 39 games.

ON DECK: The Gillespie’s Tree Service U13s are now off on a quest for the Red Hats at the OMHA Championships this coming weekend in Oakville!

The Belleville Senators are looking to put a difficult weekend behind them, which featured losses to both the Bridgeport Islanders (New York Islanders) and Milwaukee Admirals (Nashville Predators).

Both Quinte teams won their first-round match-ups in five games with Wellington emerging victorious over the St. Michael’s Buzzers and Trenton knocking out the Cobourg Cougars.

In Honor of Travis will be the first Travis Gillespie Memorial Hockey Tournament where all proceeds raised will be donated to Hearts for Martial Arts and Warkworth Minor Hockey. This year it will be held at the Warkworth Arena and Community Centre on March 11, 2023.
