Local Skating Clubs Mourn Loss of Hietala

Skate Ontario is saddened to learn of the passing of Jodi Hietala, a longtime member of the Ontario skating family. For over 25 years Jodi was a Provincial level Judge, Technical Official, Evaluator and Tech Rep. The Trenton Golden Hawks suffered their first defeat at the Centennial Cup national Jr. A championship in Calgary Friday afternoon. The KD Transmission Senior Men’s Bulldogs edged out the Ajax Wanderers in a thrilling 24-21 victory during exhibition play on Saturday. Tries were recorded by Alex Bauer, Cody Travers, Tristan Cowan, and Dominic Robinson, with Devin McCann adding two key converts to help seal the win.
