Nate Boomhower and Jack Dow each scored twice as the Picton Pirates returned to Provincial Junior Hockey League action Thursday night with a 6-0 victory over the visiting Frankford Huskies at the Prince Edward Community Centre.

Goaltender Ethan Taylor spent most of the 2020-21 hockey season at home in Trenton waiting for his opportunity to return to the crease of the OHL’s Soo Greyhounds.

Reid Lambert has great plans to celebrate his 18th birthday on Friday. In addition to the numerous greetings he’s sure to receive from family and friends, Lambert will also return to the ice with the Napanee Raiders as they take on the visiting Campbellford Rebels.

Cullen Pollock enjoyed cheering on his hometown Campbellford Rebels in his younger years. His father Marcus had played for the Rebels many years prior and his uncle Justin was a coach when Cullen was a young fan attending any game he could.

It’s been a successful season so far for the U18 Lady Dukes – Belleville Bearcats AA hockey team on and off the ice and finally it’s about to continue now that provincial restrictions have been eased.

Playing in his last season of junior C hockey, Picton Pirates captain Devin Morrison knows the end is near. Win or lose, though, the 21-year-old from Belleville hopes his final game comes in the playoffs rather than because of another shutdown.

When the Ontario government’s restrictions are lifted Monday, the Quinte Red Devils McInroy Maines Construction U18 Red Devils players will start to make up for lost time. They’ll see lots of ice this with two practices followed by three games in four days.
