BELLEVILLE, ON – The first period produced plenty of chances, as the Crunch narrowly outshot the Senators 11–10 while also generating opportunities on the man advantage. The Senators went 2-for-2 on the penalty kill and 0-for-1 on the power play to start the game.

BELLEVILLE, ON –  The Ottawa Senators have acquired right winger Graeme Clarke from the Washington Capitals. 
In return, the Senators are sending the Capitals forward Wyatt Bongiovanni. Clarke, 24, is playing in his sixth professional season and has collected 24 points (five goals, 19 assists) over 50 games
