Another high-scoring game resulted in a 6-2 win for the Wellington Dukes in Ontario Junior Hockey League on Thursday night in Caledon.
The Quinte Red Devils association has returned to action looking
to continue to be one of the top ‘AAA’ minor hockey organizations
in the province.
The 25-year-old is entering his seventh season as play-by-play announcer for Dukes broadcasts on HockeyTV and YourTV Quinte. He also writes game reports for the Ontario Junior Hockey League club.
With the OJHL having returned this fall after a cancelled season, Smith wants the 2021-22 Dukes players to be ready to battle for their roster spot every night as the players return to traditional hockey.
Women’s Hockey is on the move in North America. Opportunities for young women to pursue hockey careers at academic institutions in both Canada and the U.S have grown exponentially. Quinte and the surrounding area have and are producing a number of elite world-class athletes that will have tremendous futures in hockey.
On Tuesday November 30th the Stampkrete QRD U12’s hosted the Central Ontario Wolves at the Marmora Arena. It was a back and forth affair, with both clubs trading scoring opportunities.
This weekend the U14 Free Flow Petroleum Quinte Red Devils went 3-1-1 at the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Tournament.
After winning 8-0 Saturday in Toronto against the Patriots, the Dukes tallied the first six goals of the contest in an eventual 7-4 victory over the visiting Lindsay Muskies in Ontario Junior Hockey League action Sunday at Lehigh Arena.
Cal Wilson tied the game late in regulation time before teammate Wes Davey scored the game winner early in overtime to give the Napanee Stars a 3-2 victory over the Quinte West Golden Hawks in the 13U ‘A’ division championship game at the Northumberland Regional Silver Stick hockey tournament in Cobourg.
