Six teams, including the host Loyalist College Lancers, will compete Saturday for the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Women’s Rugby Sevens championship in Belleville.
The Durham College Lords enter as the top seed with a perfect 18-0-0 record while the Fleming College Knights sit second at 12-6-0. Both clubs have earned berths in the semifinals as they await the winners of two opening round morning match-ups.
No. 5 seed St. Lawrence College Surge (5-12-1) take on the Seneca College Sting (10-8-0) at 10 a.m. and the winner advances to face Durham at 11:30 a.m.
No. 3 Algonquin College Wolves (11-6-1) face the host Loyalist Lancers (2-16-0) at 10:30 a.m. with the winners moving on to face the Fleming at 12 p.m.
Game times for the afternoon gold and bronze medal contests haven’t been announced, but will be updated here when those times are known.
