After the shortened 30-game regular season came to an end on Sunday, the Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Tod Division playoffs will promptly begin Monday night as the Campbellford Rebels head to Port Hope to face the Panthers.
All six teams have qualified for the playoffs this season, with the top two receiving first-round byes while seeds 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5 meet in the opening best-of-seven series.
The Amherstview Jets (24-4-1-1) finished atop the Tod Division standings with 50 points, just ahead of the Napanee Raiders (22-4-0-4) with 48 points.
In third place, the Picton Pirates (16-12-0-2 for 34 points) narrowly finished one point ahead of the fourth-place Port Hope Panthers (14-11-3-2 for 33 points). Campbellford (8-21-0-1) placed fifth with 17 points and the expansion Frankford Huskies (1-27-2-0) finished with four points during their inaugural PJHL campaign.
Monday night’s game in Port Hope is scheduled for a 7:50 p.m. start at the Jack Burger Sports Complex. The Rebels will host Game 2 on Tuesday night, 8:30 p.m., at the Campbellford-Seymour Community Centre.
In the other first-round series, the Pirates will host Game 1 against the Huskies on Thursday night at the Prince Edward Community Centre in Picton. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
Frankford will host Game 2 on Saturday at 7:50 p.m.
