Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant Awarded to OCPSA
Belleville, ON – On Friday, the Ontario Cerebral Palsy Sports Association (OCPSA) hosted a recognition
event to thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) and the Government of Ontario for their $224,700
Grow Grant to increase inclusive school-based physical activity opportunities for students of all abilities in
the Quinte Region.
Adam Bramburger, representing MPP Tyler Allsopp, joined para-athletes, families, coaches, officials, and
spectators from across Ontario at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre to celebrate this significant
investment in the expansion of Rolling Success—OCPSA’s transformative program that empowers schools
to embed para-sports into their school culture, making physical activity more welcoming to all students and
more representative of all abilities.
“School-based para-sports offer a powerful opportunity to promote health and inclusion, while also
fostering empathy, teamwork, and a stronger sense of belonging within school communities. This important
OTF grant will help redefine how schools across the Quinte Region support the physical activity needs and
aspirations of all students,” said Tyler Allsopp, MPP for Bay of Quinte.
The three-year Grow Grant, awarded to OCPSA in April 2025, will be used to train and support educators
to deliver two game-changing para-sports—boccia and frame running—within their classrooms,
gymnasiums, and schoolyards. Both sports are ideally suited for this innovative initiative, as they are fully
accessible and easily adaptable, enabling students with significant physical disabilities to participate
meaningfully alongside their peers.
“The impact of this support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Government of Ontario cannot be
overstated,” said Amanda Fader, Executive Director of OCPSA. “This grant will allow us to expand our
widely requested Rolling Success program to 40 schools within the Quinte Region over the next three
years. Rolling Success will reduce barriers to participation for children with disabilities, build local capacity,
and firmly establish a model of inclusive sport that can be sustained and expanded within school systems
and beyond into communities.”
For more than 40 years, OCPSA has helped thousands of children and adults with cerebral palsy and
similar disabilities build healthy, active, and fulfilling lives through recreational, competitive, and high-
performance sport programming. OCPSA is a registered charitable organization and a leading sport
organization in the province today for persons with a disability. Visit www.ocpsa.com to learn more.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Ontario government with a mission to build
healthy and vibrant communities across the province. Last year, OTF invested nearly $105M into 732
community projects and multi-sector partnerships. Projects aim to enhance economic well-being, foster
more active lifestyles, support child and youth development, provide spaces for people to come together
and connect, and create a more sustainable environment. Visit otf.ca to learn more.
