The Belleville Soccer Club’s Elite Landscaping & Construction U13 boys competitive team celebrated a tournament victory at the Peterborough Challenge Cup held June 18 and 19.
They went undefeated in four games, including a 3-1 victory over the Oshawa Kicks in the final, to capture the tournament title.
In round-robin play on the Saturday portion of the schedule, Belleville opened the tournament with a 1-1 tie against Oshawa before defeating Peterborough City Blue 5-1. During Sunday morning action, they blanked the Guelph Jr. Gryphons 2-0 to advance to the championship game against Oshawa.
Coaching this season by Brett Manlow, a number of the players have been together since they were eight years old coming up through the Belleville Soccer Club’s development and competitive teams. Seven returning players are joined this year by eight new members of the team.
U13 team members are Jon Bonter, Killian Brown, Landon Cowey, Caleb Emerson, Jayden Forgues, Liam Gallant, Avery Gordon, Charles Joubarne, Cyptin Lambert, Christopher Lanning, Lucas Lemaire, Luke Manlow, Matthew Pawlak, Ryker Pigden and Olivier Rainville.
