Jacob Brown Named PJHL Tod Division Goalie of the Year
NAPANEE, ON — The Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) has officially announced its 2025-2026 season awards, naming Jacob Brown of the Napanee Raiders as the Tod Division Goalie of the Year.
Brown, a native of Yarker, Ontario, emerged as a foundational piece for the Raiders this season after joining the club with an impressive pedigree. Standing 6-foot-3, the 19-year-old goaltender brought a “calm and controlled” presence to the crease that translated into dominant regular-season numbers.
2025-2026 Season Performance
Brown’s award-winning campaign was defined by consistency and elite statistical output:
- Record: 17 wins, 7 losses.
- Goals Against Average (GAA): 2.38.
- Total Minutes: 1,687.
- Additional Honors: In addition to the individual Goalie of the Year title, Brown and teammate Denholm Blair shared the Top Goals Against award for the Tod Division.
A Proven Winner
Brown’s success in the PJHL is the latest chapter in a highly decorated junior career:
- NOJHL Dominance: As a 16-year-old rookie in 2022-2023, he led the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League with a 1.49 GAA and helped the Timmins Rock secure a league championship.
- OHL Experience: A fourth-round pick in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, Brown spent parts of two seasons with the Flint Firebirds, appearing in 19 games.
- OJHL Stints: He also saw significant action with the Wellington Dukes, posting a 15-8-3 record during the 2024-2025 season.
Playoff Impact
Brown has maintained his high level of play into the post-season. In the 2025-26 PJHL Schmalz Cup Playoffs, he currently boasts a stellar .952 save percentage, including a 27-save shutout performance in a critical 1-0 overtime win against the Port Hope Panthers earlier this March.
Raiders head coach Ben Hagerman, who recruited Brown as a “massive addition” to the roster, praised his mature confidence and work ethic. As the Raiders push deeper into the playoffs, Brown’s performance remains central to their championship aspirations.
