TRENTON — There are teams, down 2-0 and heading on the road in a playoff series without a star player, that would have thrown in the towel. Not the Stouffville Spirit. After trailing 1-0 for more than half the game, Stouffville rallied for a 2-1 win at Trenton, and cutting the Golden Hawks series lead in half. David Paglia tied the game late in the second and Lachlan Wells stunned the crowd, surprising Hawks’ goalie Ryan Sanborn by snapping the game-winner home with nine seconds left. The Spirit played without Evan Breckles, who was injured in game three. Masen Johnston started in goal for Stouffville and made what could be a series-saving stop on a Trenton two-on-one in the second period with the Spirit down 1-0.
Game four will be played Thursday night at Stouffville Arena with Trenton up two-games-to-one. Game five is back on the shores of the Bay of Quinte Friday night. Puck drop and game time both nights on 102.9 Whistle FM and whistle fm dot ca is 7:30. Hope you can join us or support the Spirit in person!
