When they show up to cheer on their favourite Ontario Junior Hockey League team at Wellington Dukes home games this season, fans will also have their own opportunities to win big.
The Quinte Smart Homes/Dukes Season Grand Prize Giveaway begins Friday, Oct. 1 when the Dukes host the Mississauga Chargers to kick off the 2021-22 OJHL regular season. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Lehigh Arena. The Dukes Home Opener promises to be an exciting evening kicking it off are members of the Brighton Legion Pipe Band and the Airforce City Pipes and Drums.
At every home game in Wellington this season, fans can enter the contest by scanning the QR code on their ticket/pass or by visiting QuinteSmartHomes.ca and clicking on the contest link and entering the unique promo code for that game.
“The Wellington Dukes are excited to work with Quinte Smart Homes and other Dukes sponsors this season in our Quinte Smart Homes Dukes Season Giveaway Contest,” said Kelly Martin, director of sales and marketing for Dukes Sports & Entertainment. “There will be weekly draws for tickets, products and more. The contest prizes will grow throughout the season and we hope to really get the value of the full grand prize up over $5,000. The Wellington Dukes are working hard to grow our relationship with our sponsors in a win-win for all.”
Any business wishing to donate a prize and participate in the #hashtag campaign as part of the contest is encouraged to contact Kelly at boqtotalsports@gmail.com.
Current prizes up for grabs include a one year supply of Uncle Chester’s Flaming Hot Pepper Sauce (UncleChesters.ca), which includes 12 jars of various heat levels; a $100 gift card from Midtown Brewing Company in Wellington (MidtownBrewingCompany.com); and a $100 gift card from the Boathouse Seafood Restaurant & Waterfront Patio (boathouselure.ca).
Contest sponsor Quinte Smart Homes is also offering a prize of a $500 Sonos Move Speaker.
Justin Davidson, owner of Quinte Smart Homes and Davidson Electrical Services, is excited about his advertising partnership with the Dukes, including a rink board at Lehigh Arena. Davidson said partnering with Dukes is a great way “just to be part of the community” and wanted to do something interactive like the Season Grand Prize Giveaway.
“Contests are always fun, they always get people involved and get the community involved,” Davidson says.
It’s also great exposure for his business to local out-of-town fans. Quinte Smart Homes offers integration to Belleville, Prince Edward County, Quinte West, Campbellford, Brighton, Kingston and surrounding areas. The partnership of Davidson’s businesses, Quinte Smart Homes and Davidson Electrical Services, ensures installation performed by experienced licensed electricians, designed and automated by Certified Smart Home Specialists.
Working as a licensed electrician, Davidson saw a need for someone to offer smart home services, including in the County.
“Prince Edward County is booming and there’s a lot of people that want the smart home stuff,” Davidson said.
That could include installation of a home theatre, indoor or outdoor audio, smart lighting, HVAC control, cameras and security systems.
“It’s all about convenience, just making your whole house convenient,” Davidson says.
Davidson wants to see great support for the Dukes this season and lots of entries into the Grand Prize Giveaway contest. The current grand prize value is already over $800 and growing.
Smaller prize draws will take place each week. The Grand Prize winner will be drawn at the Dukes final regular season home game on March 4.
