January 8, 2026, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Taeo Artichuk of the Trenton Golden Hawks has been named the East Conference Player-of-the-Month for December after he tallied a league-leading 27 points during eight games – including 24 assists.
Artichuk won the monthly award for September and October, as well.
The former Erie Otter (Ontario Hockey League) has 79 points (27 goals/52 assists), good for a 19–point lead atop the OJHL scoring race. He’s on pace for 126 points this season, according to EliteProspects.ccm
Trenton teammate Jack Ziliotto was runner-up to Artichuk as the East Conference Player-of-the-Month. The Burlington native scored 11 goals and added six assists in eight games – good for second in total points (17) across the 24-team league during December.
Ziliotto has 60 points (24 goals/36 assists), second only to Artichuk in points across the OJHL so far this season.
Artichuk and Ziliotto both played in the inaugural OJHL U SPORTS showcase for 20-year-olds in Oshawa last month.

The Ontario Junior Hockey League is the largest Junior ‘A’ league operating under the auspices of the Canadian Junior Hockey League with 24 member clubs. A proud member of the CJHL and Ontario Hockey Association, the OJHL was originally named the Ontario Provincial Junior ‘A’ Hockey League and it was formed out of the Central Junior ‘B’ Hockey League in 1993-94.
