Quinte Bay gymnasts compete at Eastern Canadians

Five local gymnasts recently competed at Eastern Canadian championships in Sherbrooke, Quebec bringing home four gold and one bronze medal. 

The Quinte Bay Gymnastics Club competed at Sherbrooke University as part of Team Ontario May 11-15. Iris Fanjoy, Leila Lemaire, and Kensey Koutroulides competed in the Level 2 division while Brooklyn Murray competed in Level 3 and Gabby Cammaart in Level 4.

All athletes competed for Team Ontario in the tumbling event. The competition consisted of athletes from all over eastern Canada. Cammaat along with three other Level 4 gymnasts from Ontario took first in the team category. Lemaire and Koutroulides along with two other Level 2 gymnasts from Ontario also took first in their team category. Lemaire took home 1st in the individual level two category while Cammaat took home 3rd in the individual level four category. 

All five gymnasts are coached by Katelyn Thompson of Quinte Bay.
