U16 Quinte Royals Go 5-0 in EOBA Playoffs to Secure championship

The U16 Quinte Royals captured the EOB a championship in a 2-1 walkoff win versus Kingston, an extra innings in front of a large crowd. The team is very appreciative for everybody who showed up and supported. Stellar pitching has been the cornerstone of their success, propelling the team to five consecutive playoff victories.

Game 1:
The Royals opened the weekend with a hard-fought 10-7 win over Kendal. Grady Holmes led the charge from the mound, allowing just 2 earned runs to secure the win. Alex Bisset stepped in to close the game, recording the save and shutting down Kendal’s comeback attempt. Ben Dryfhout shined offensively, driving in 4 runs to power the Royals’ offense.

Game 2:
In their second game, Quinte continued to build momentum with a 7-3 victory over Ajax. Jack Stitt delivered a strong performance on the mound, earning the win, while Alex Bisset once again recorded the save. The Royals’ offense was consistent, with contributions from the entire lineup helping to secure the win.

Game 3:
The Royals faced a tough challenge against Kingston in their third game, which turned out to be a nail-biter. Quinte emerged victorious with a narrow 3-2 win. Ethan Thompson was outstanding on the mound, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings to earn the win. Gavin Gardiner picked up the save.

Semi-Finals:
The Royals’ impressive run continued in the semi-finals Sunday, where they faced Uxbridge. Quinte broke through in the sixth inning, scoring 2 runs, and added 4 more insurance runs in the 7th to secure a 6-0 victory and a place in the championship game. Jack Murphy was exceptional on the mound, pitching a complete game shutout. He struck out 8 batters, allowed just 2 hits, and contributed offensively with 2 RBIs.

Finals:

Gavin Gardiner pitched exceptionally well striking out 13 batters and 7 2/3 innings leading the Royals to a 21 walk off when in front of enthusiastic crowded Bayshore Park and Trenton Alex Bisset picked up his third save of the playoffs with the win.
