With temperatures reaching the mid 30s in the Quinte area on the weekend. The cool confines of the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre was a great spot to be as the Dukes held their 2025 Summer Identification Camp.

Camp started Friday evening with goalie sessions that were led by Dukes Goalie Coach Phil Groeneveld. Nearly 20 goaltenders were in attendance looking to impress the Dukes coaching staff. Ultimately 9 goalies would be selected to participate in weekend games, giving them another opportunity to show off their skills. Groeneveld was very impressed with quality and energy that was on display with the goalies in attendance. “The energy and talent at this weekend’s goalie session was great. We saw a group of driven, high-quality goaltenders who are not only competing hard but pushing each other to reach the next level. We look forward to working with our goalies this season!”

Saturday and Sunday sessions gave players on each of the 3 teams, five games to display their skills to Dukes staff. Dukes Head Coach/GM Jacob Panetta was very impressed with the play that was on display during the entire weekend. “I was thoroughly impressed with the level of play and effort displayed by all players this weekend. As the weekend went on, the intensity continued to get better and we got the opportunity to evaluate a lot of great players and local talent. It was a great start to our 2025/2026 season and we are excited for what our main camp will show in August”. “A big thank you to all the volunteers, staff members, players, parents and the Quinte Sports & Wellness Center for helping us put this on. We cannot emphasize enough how excited we are for this upcoming season” Panetta added.
