While trying to ice a competitive AHL team to gain the support of local hockey fans, the Belleville Senators also continue to focus on showing support to the local community.

Host Napanee Express will open its schedule Friday on Canada Day at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of an earlier game between Fitzroy Harbour and Westport. Teams need to lose twice to be eliminated from the double-knockout tournament.

As the Dukes continue to prepare for the 2022-23 Ontario Junior Hockey League season, one of their entries won the TEP Tournament at the Ford Performance Centre in Etobicoke from June 23 to 26.

The senior women lost 46-10 against a strong Peterborough team. Tries were scored my Mackenzie Lapierre and Sydney Patterson.Â

Centennial Secondary School in Belleville recognized its athletes recently with its year-end banquet. In addition to the major sport awards, each team that was able to run this year also recognized athletes.

The Belleville Soccer Club’s Elite Landscaping & Construction U13 boys competitive team celebrated a tournament victory at the Peterborough Challenge Cup held June 18 and 19.

Shannonville (ON) June 16, 2022 – Round two of the 2022 Super Series got underway this past weekend on the Pro track amid one of the most unstable forecasts. With the skies being unpredictable, the riders took to the track knowing potential rain showers could come at any second. When the dust all settled, nine different riders found themselves on the top step of the podium

The senior women travelled to Cobourg for an exhibition game, losing 39-27. Tries were scored by Summer Talbot Bradley, Madi Reid. Taryn McLachlan, Elayna Reid and Hayley Davies. Sierra Wood added a convert. In the spirit of the game, we lent the other team players and Paige O’Brien scored a try for Cobourg.

With an appreciation for the history of Shannonville Motorsport Park, John Bondar was also excited for its future back in the fall of 2019. That’s when it was announced Bondar and Steve Gidman had purchased the racing venue east of Belleville. Bondar’s fascination with motorsports dates back more than 45 years.
