Local Skating Clubs Mourn Loss of Hietala

Skate Ontario is saddened to learn of the passing of Jodi Hietala, a longtime member of the Ontario skating family. 🕊️🤍

For over 25 years Jodi was a Provincial level Judge, Technical Official, Evaluator and Tech Rep. Jodi was from Frankford and was a regular Evaluator for many years in the Eastern part of Ontario including clubs in Quinte, Kingston and Prince Edward County.

Jodi also officiated at many Provincial level events giving generously of her time to attend events such as the Skate Ontario Provincial Championships, Adult Skating Championships and many Provincial and Sectional Series events across Ontario. She took on the role as Tech Rep at several Skate Ontario events over the years and was dedicated to her role as an Ontario Official and volunteer.

Jodi was passionate about skating and her smile, joy and laughter will be missed by her skating family. There will be a reception for friends & family and a Celebration of Life on Wednesday May 14th in Trenton.

The family will receive friends at the RUSHNELL FUNERAL HOME, 60 Division Street, Trenton on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Jodi’s Life will follow in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Dusty Crozier officiating. Inurnment at Stockdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to The Bridge Hospice, Warkworth would be appreciated.
