Total Sports Quinte Is For Sale: An Opportunity to Carry a Local Sports Legacy Forward

By Total Sports Quinte

After nearly a decade of promoting local athletes, teams and sports organizations, founder Kelly Martin is looking for the next owner to take Total Sports Quinte into its next chapter.

Total Sports Quinte began in the spring of 2017 when Kelly Martin set out to create a platform dedicated to celebrating and promoting local sports throughout the Bay of Quinte region.

What started as a local sports marketing initiative quickly grew into something much bigger. Through its popular Total Sports magazines, online Sports Hub and comprehensive online sports directory, the company became a recognizable resource connecting local athletes, teams, organizations, businesses and sports enthusiasts.

In 2020, Martin merged Total Sports Quinte with Dukes Sports & Entertainment, where the business continued operating alongside the Wellington Dukes organization. It’s been a great marketing tool for the Dukes to promote the team and sponsors and generate additional revenue. That partnership remained in place until June 2026, when the sale of the Wellington Dukes resulted in Kelly Martin and Tealah Clement taking over the operations of Total Sports Quinte independently.

With both women balancing their responsibilities in the phytopharmaceutical industry and the company’s plans to advance toward its next chapter on the stock exchange, finding the time and resources to give Total Sports Quinte the attention it deserves has become increasingly challenging.

“After almost 20 years working in sports marketing, particularly with teams in the Ontario Junior Hockey League, I’ve truly enjoyed every minute of it,” says Martin. “However, I’ve been juggling both hockey and healthcare work since May 2025, and I’ve discovered that my work in phytopharmaceuticals has become my passion. Helping the company move toward its next chapter on the stock exchange is demanding, but incredibly interesting. I absolutely love it.”

Despite the decision to sell, Martin says she remains incredibly proud of what Total Sports Quinte has accomplished.

Over the years, the Total Sports magazines and online Sports Hub have continued to attract considerable interest. Perhaps one of the company’s greatest accomplishments has been the development of its comprehensive online sports directory, the only one of its kind in the region, featuring more than 300 sports organizations, businesses and sports-related service providers.

Martin says the idea for the directory came from a simple but recurring problem.

“I was receiving countless phone calls and emails every day from people looking for contact information or wanting to learn more about local sports organizations. I realized there was a need for one central place where people could find everything they were looking for. That’s how the sports directory came to life.”

Today, the directory receives thousands of visits each month and has become an important component of the Total Sports Quinte platform.

“We’ve invested a tremendous amount of time and money into the Sports Hub, particularly the online directory,” says Martin. “It’s something we’re very proud of, and we believe there is still enormous potential for it to grow.”

The company is now being offered for sale for an asking price of $15,000, an opportunity Martin believes could be particularly attractive to a young sports enthusiast, a recent graduate of a sports-related program, or even an existing sports organization looking to generate additional revenue while promoting its own activities.

The sale offers an affordable opportunity to acquire an established, turnkey business with an existing brand, advertising clients, online presence, magazine history, sports directory and significant potential for future development.

“We really hope to find someone who can take our visionary business plan and move Total Sports forward with the passion and attention it deserves,” says Martin. “We have a very detailed business plan outlining the next phase of the company’s development, and we’ll be passing that along to the new owner or operator. We truly believe there is so much more that can be done with Total Sports Quinte.”

For Martin, selling the business isn’t about walking away from something that hasn’t worked. Quite the opposite. It’s about recognizing its potential and finding someone who has the time, energy and enthusiasm to build on what has already been created.

After nearly ten years of celebrating local sports, the next chapter of Total Sports Quinte is waiting to be written.
