Sports related concussions are a growing concern in the world of athletics and affect athletes of all ages. Remaining up to date on identification and management of sports related concussion ensures parents, athletes, and coaches follow an appropriate recovery plan for the long-term well being of the athlete. A 2022 update by The Concussion in Sport Group defined sport related concussion as a traumatic brain injury caused by a direct blow to the head, neck, or body resulting in an impulsive force

QUINTE RED DEVILS WEEKLY REPORT – Tues Dec 17/24

On Sunday afternoon, the Madison Excavating U13 AAA Quinte Red Devils travelled to Aurora to face off against the York-Simcoe Express. YSE came out buzzing, lighting the lamp just three minutes in, to take an early lead. Quinte responded on the power play at the 5:59 mark, as Everett Brown buried a beauty, set up by Blake McManus and Kade Osterhout.

QUINTE RED DEVILS WEEKLY REPORT – Tues Dec 10/24

The Bonn Law U14 AAA Quinte Red Devils played two home games this weekend.  

On Saturday, The Devils hosted The York Simcoe Express for an afternoon game at Warkworth. Dax Sage was fantastic in net, shutting the door on the Express. The Red Devils would go on to score 4 goals in the game on their way to a 4-0 shutout win. Brody Grant Scored a pair for the Devils, while Austin Pettey and Thomas Marsden each added singles.

The Environmental 360 Solutions U16 AAA Red Devils …Mac Chisholm was in on all three goals, scoring two, including the clincher in overtime, with Nate Rashotte assisting on both tallies while linemate Isaac Tracze netted the winner’s other goal as the Devils eeked out a 3-2 verdict over the visiting Whitby Wildcats Sunday at the Community Centre in Tweed.

 November 25, 2024 Home-and-home split with Laval bumps Belleville up a spot in North Division 

The Belleville Senators moved up to fifth place in the American Hockey League’s North Division standings this week after splitting a home-and-home set with the division-leading Laval Rocket (AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens). Belleville came from behind to win on their first trip to Laval this season on Friday before falling on home ice the following night.

Saturday saw the Breakaway Fuels Red Devils face the North Central Predators in a double header at the Keeler Center in Colborne.

Game one saw the Red Devils strike first with less than two minutes remaining in the first when Kai Mackie finished off a nice offensive zone passing play.
